If you have just picked up a pack and want to know TEREA Purple Wave how to use, the short version is simple: charge your IQOS ILUMA device, insert the TEREA Purple Wave Indonesia stick fully into the holder with the filter end facing out, let the device heat the stick, enjoy the session once the device signals it is ready, then remove and dispose of the used stick responsibly.
The details matter, though. Inserting the stick incorrectly, using the wrong device, or skipping basic maintenance can flatten the flavor and spoil the experience. This guide walks you through every step, explains what to expect from the Purple Wave flavor, and answers the questions UAE customers ask most often.

How to Use TEREA Purple Wave Indonesia
- Check compatibility. TEREA sticks work only with IQOS ILUMA series devices, not older blade-heated IQOS models.
- Charge your device. Make sure the holder and charger are ready before you start.
- Insert the stick. Push the TEREA Purple Wave stick gently and fully into the holder, filter end outward.
- Wait for the device signal. The ILUMA heats the stick using induction. Wait until the vibration or indicator tells you it is ready.
- Enjoy the session. Draw slowly and steadily for a smooth, balanced berry and tobacco flavor with a cooling finish.
- Remove and dispose. Take out the used stick and dispose of it according to local regulations.
Each step is explained in detail below.

What Is TEREA Purple Wave Indonesia?
TEREA Purple Wave Indonesia is a heated tobacco stick made for adult users of IQOS ILUMA devices. Instead of burning tobacco like a conventional cigarette, the stick is heated by the device, which produces a tobacco aerosol rather than smoke from combustion.
The Purple Wave flavor combines a smooth tobacco base with sweet berry and grape-style notes and a cooling, menthol-like finish. It is generally described as balanced rather than overly sweet, which is why many regular IQOS users choose it for everyday sessions.
The “Indonesia” label refers to the regional edition. Different regional editions of TEREA can have slightly different packaging, labeling and flavor tuning, so it helps to know which edition you are buying. At Vapora Dubai, you can browse the full TEREA Indonesia range alongside editions from other countries.

Which Devices Work with TEREA Purple Wave?
This is the single most important point for first-time buyers. TEREA sticks are designed for the Smartcore Induction System™ found in the IQOS ILUMA family. They will not work properly, and should not be used, with older IQOS models that use a heating blade.
Compatible devices include:
- IQOS ILUMA
- IQOS ILUMA Prime
- IQOS ILUMA One
- IQOS ILUMA i
- IQOS ILUMA i Prime
- IQOS ILUMA i One
If you do not own a compatible device yet, browse the IQOS ILUMA devices collection to find a model that suits you. Popular entry points include the ILUMA i One, the ILUMA i Standard and the ILUMA i Prime. If you already use a BONDS by IQOS device, check the device’s own instructions to confirm TEREA compatibility before use.
Why Compatibility Matters
Older IQOS sticks relied on a metal blade inserted into the tobacco. ILUMA devices have no blade. Instead, a metal element inside the TEREA stick is heated by induction. Because the technology is different, mixing the two systems can damage the device, deliver poor flavor, or simply not work. Always match the stick to the device.

Before You Start: Quick Checklist
Run through this short list before your first session with a new pack:
- Device charged. A low battery can interrupt a session or prevent heating.
- Holder and cap clean. Residue from earlier sessions can affect flavor.
- Stick undamaged. Do not use a stick that is bent, torn, wet or crushed.
- Dry hands. Moisture on the stick or in the holder can cause problems.
- Right pack. Confirm it is TEREA Purple Wave and not another flavor if you are trying to compare.
- Manual nearby. Features such as indicator lights, vibration patterns and session settings vary slightly between ILUMA models, so keep your device manual handy.

Step-by-Step: How to Use TEREA Purple Wave Indonesia
Step 1: Charge Your IQOS ILUMA Device
Make sure your device has enough charge for the session. Most ILUMA models use a pocket charger or charging case that recharges the holder. If your indicator shows a low battery, charge before you begin rather than mid-session.
Step 2: Take One Stick from the Pack
Open the pack and remove a single TEREA Purple Wave stick. Handle it by the paper end, not by the filter, and avoid squeezing it. Keep the rest of the pack closed so the remaining sticks stay fresh.
Step 3: Prepare the Holder
Open the holder cap or activate the device according to your model’s instructions. Check that the opening is clear of debris. A clean opening lets the stick seat properly and heat evenly.
Step 4: Insert the Stick Fully
Hold the stick with the filter end facing you and the tobacco end pointing toward the device. Slide it gently and straight into the holder until it is fully seated. Do not twist hard or force it. If it will not go in smoothly, remove it, check for damage and try again.
A properly inserted stick matters more than most users realize. A stick that is not fully seated can heat unevenly, which leads to weak flavor and wasted tobacco.
Step 5: Let the Device Heat
Once the stick is inserted, the ILUMA’s induction system begins heating it. Different models signal readiness in slightly different ways, usually with a vibration, a light indicator, or both. Wait until the device tells you it is ready. Drawing too early gives a thin, flat taste because the stick has not reached its working temperature.
Step 6: Start Your Session
When the device signals that it is ready, take slow, steady draws. Do not pull as hard as you might on a conventional cigarette. Heated tobacco is designed to deliver flavor at a gentle pace, and slower draws let you notice the berry aroma, the tobacco body and the cooling finish more clearly.
A typical session lasts a few minutes. Exact duration depends on your device model and its settings, so refer to your manual for specifics.
Step 7: Finish and Remove the Stick
When the device signals the end of the session, remove the used stick. Do this carefully, since the stick may still be warm. Do not reuse a stick after it has been heated.
Step 8: Dispose of the Used Stick Responsibly
Place the used stick in a proper waste bin. Do not leave used sticks lying around, and keep them out of reach of children and pets.

What to Expect During a Purple Wave Session
Understanding the flavor journey helps you judge whether the stick is performing as it should.
| Stage | What you should notice |
|---|---|
| First draws | A light berry aroma, smooth tobacco and a gentle cooling sensation |
| Middle of the session | Balanced tobacco richness with consistent berry notes and a refreshing inhale |
| Final draws | A clean finish, a lingering aroma and a smooth aftertaste |
If the flavor is much weaker or harsher than this, the cause is almost always one of the common issues covered later in this guide: poor insertion, a dirty holder, drawing too fast or a stale stick.
Flavor Profile Summary
| Characteristic | Description |
|---|---|
| Primary flavor | Premium tobacco |
| Secondary notes | Berry and grape-style aroma |
| Cooling effect | Medium |
| Sweetness | Mild |
| Tobacco strength | Medium |
| Body | Smooth and balanced |
| Aftertaste | Clean and refreshing |
Purple Wave sits in a comfortable middle ground. It is not as sharp as a pure menthol stick and not as sweet as a dessert-style flavor, which makes it a practical daily choice for adults who want some fruitiness without losing the tobacco character.

Tips for Getting the Best Flavor from TEREA Purple Wave
1. Use Fresh Sticks
Freshness has a direct effect on flavor. Keep the pack sealed when not in use and avoid carrying loose sticks in a pocket for days.
2. Insert Straight and Fully
Always push the stick in straight. Angled or half-inserted sticks produce uneven heating.
3. Wait for the Ready Signal
Patience pays off. The first draws after the ready signal are often the most flavorful, and starting too early wastes them.
4. Draw Slowly
Take slow, even draws. This preserves the berry notes and keeps the cooling effect smooth instead of sharp.
5. Keep the Holder Clean
A clean holder gives the cleanest taste. Residue builds up gradually, so make cleaning part of your routine.
6. Avoid Extreme Temperatures
Do not leave your device or sticks in a hot car or in direct sunlight. In the UAE climate, this is one of the most common causes of flavor loss.
7. Charge Before You Need It
A device that runs out of power mid-session wastes the stick. Top up the battery whenever you can.

Common Mistakes When Using TEREA Sticks
Most complaints about heated tobacco come from a handful of avoidable errors.
Using the wrong device. Trying a TEREA stick in an older blade-based IQOS is the biggest mistake. Check compatibility first.
Forcing the stick. If it does not go in easily, do not push harder. Remove it and inspect it.
Drawing before the device is ready. The result is a weak, papery taste.
Ignoring cleaning. A dirty holder muddies the flavor and can affect how reliably the device heats.
Reusing a stick. Once a stick has been heated, it should be discarded.
Poor storage. Heat, humidity and open packs all reduce freshness.
Buying from unverified sellers. Counterfeit or poorly stored products can taste harsh or burn unevenly. More on this below.
Cleaning and Maintenance
One of the practical benefits of the ILUMA system is that it has no heating blade, which removes the blade-cleaning routine associated with older IQOS models. That does not mean the device needs no care.
- Wipe the holder opening regularly with a dry, soft cloth or a cleaning tool recommended in your device manual.
- Keep the cap and charger contacts clean so charging remains reliable.
- Avoid liquids. Do not wash the device or expose it to water.
- Follow the manufacturer’s guidance. Cleaning frequency and method vary by model, so use the official instructions for your specific device.
A few minutes of care each week helps keep flavor consistent and extends the life of your device.

How to Store TEREA Purple Wave Sticks
Proper storage keeps the stick’s moisture and aroma stable.
- Store packs in a cool, dry place.
- Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources, including car dashboards.
- Reseal or close the pack after taking a stick.
- Keep products out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not store opened packs for long periods; use them within a reasonable time.
How Is Heated Tobacco Different from a Cigarette?
A conventional cigarette burns tobacco, producing smoke. A heated tobacco system such as IQOS ILUMA heats the tobacco stick to a lower temperature without combustion, producing an aerosol instead of smoke.
For everyday users in Dubai, this difference shows up in practical ways:
- Less lingering smoke odor on clothes, hair and in cars
- A different taste and feel, with the tobacco flavor and added notes delivered through heating
- A cleaner device experience on ILUMA models thanks to the bladeless design
It is important to be clear about what this does and does not mean. Heated tobacco products contain nicotine, are not risk-free and are not an approved method for quitting smoking. They are intended only for adults who would otherwise continue using tobacco. If you do not currently use nicotine products, do not start.

- Intact seals. The pack should arrive sealed and undamaged.
- Clear labeling. Edition labeling and manufacturer information should be legible. Indonesian-edition packs carry Indonesian-language labels.
- Good print quality. Blurry text or uneven printing is a warning sign.
